TEX•COTE® COOLWALL Coating Systems is the answer to encapsulating lead paint on homes and buildings to protect your family. We want to let our contractors know that they are missing the chance of using TEX•COTE® COOLWALL Coating Systems to abate lead poisoning. Prevent lead paint exposure to children by encapsulating the lead with TEX•COTE® products. The EPA advertises, “Lead paint comes with a lifetime guarantee. It will do damage for generations.” We advertise a lifetime guarantee that protects your family and the environment.

Sustainability and safety are two principals TEX•COTE® holds high in our business. We believe that making environmentally-friendly products is essential to maintaining a cleaner planet, but we also think that safety is top priority. If a home was built before 1978, the residents may have exposure to lead. Protect families, children, and the environment by choosing a coating system that passes the test – the ASTM E 1795 test, that is.

What is the ASTM E 1795 Test?

The ASTM E 1795 test is called the “Standard Specification for Non-Reinforced Liquid Coating Encapsulation Products for Leaded Paint in Buildings.” It is a governmental test on Lead Abatement that has specific requirements that must be met in different categories, including weathering, aging, scrub resistance, mildew resistance, paintability/repairability, flexibility, and tensile properties. As an applicator or contractor, you want to work with companies that pass this test because you can assure their products will not expose you to lead and its health risks.

What are the risks of lead exposure?

Lead can easily damage the brain, nervous system, and other vital organs, affecting the mental and physical abilities of an individual. There are various health problems associated with lead poisoning, such as high blood pressure. It is crucial to make sure your home, commercial building, or structure are painted with high-quality, nontoxic coatings. There are also several lead laws and regulations you must abide by, which were passed to protect people and the environment by testing properties or structures that were built prior to 1978. The EPA has more information about evaluating and eliminating Lead-Based Paint hazards to advance sustainability goals.

TEX•COTE® Test Results

TEX•COTE® has passed the ASTM E 1795 governmental testing on Lead Abatement by encapsulating the lead paint with our specialized coating systems. We met, or achieved greater results, in the minimum performance requirements for the test. If the Lead-Based Paint on a home or commercial structure was applied after the 1978 date, then TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® coatings will encapsulate the lead in the property or structure and you will not be at risk for lead poisoning. Instead of spending more time and money removing the lead paint, you can apply our textured coatings to abate the lead. TEX•COTE® is proud to offer this peace of mind to home and property owners.
