Kynar® History and High-Quality

There is only one manufacturer in the United States who makes Kynar® polymer. Arkema Inc. produces industry and specialty chemicals, and TEX•COTE® is proud to partner with them to deliver quality products that last. Due to its low water-absorption and low surface tension, Kynar® PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) resin is a natural barrier to mold, mildew, and dirt. This gives our COOLWALL® products protection that lasts the lifetime of the coating. As mildewcides are known to leach out over time in conventional coatings, TEX•COTE®’s COOLWALL® infrared heat-reflective coating system with Kynar® prevents this from happening. Kynar® is also resistant to UV degradation, making TEX•COTE®’s COOLWALL® coatings resistant to chalking and fading unlike many other coating systems.

Tested by the Department of Energy

TEX•COTE®’s COOLWALL® has been tested by the U.S. Department of Energy. In a controlled testing environment on the DOE’s test wall at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the results measured Total Solar Reflectance for COOLWALL® at .513 compared to a traditional coating in the same color at only .246. TEX•COTE® promises to continue delivering high-quality products that save our customers money and demonstrate proven success.
