Textured Coatings of America, Inc. Welcomed at Gresham Smith and Partners

Stuart Haines, President of TEX•COTE®

Last month, Textured Coatings of America, Inc. was welcomed by Gresham Smith and Partners, one of the largest architectural firms in the country. Our very own Mr. Don Miller delivered a presentation to the company to educate the attendees about the benefits of using TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® products.

Learning More about the Attendees

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Lunch Presentation was held at Gresham Smith and Partners’ corporate office. The group of architects, engineers, interior designers, and planners has 26 offices located in the United States. Their projects range from aviation to corporate and urban design to healthcare as well as a variety of industrial projects. Twelve people were in attendance, including the Lead Designer and Project Architects from the company’s Jacksonville office. They are currently working on six healthcare design projects in Jacksonville.

Presenting TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® Products

Mr. Don Miller, a member of the sales team at Textured Coatings of America, Inc., presented information about how Gresham Smith and Partners could improve their building specifications by using TEX•COTE® COOLWALL® products. He specifically discussed TEX-COTE® REFLECT-TEC® Heat Reflective Roof and Wall Coating System, which is energy-efficient and reduces cooling costs. We are always proud to share our sustainable story about how our products contribute to the environment’s health.

At the end of the presentation, Mr. Don Miller also showed the group the TEX•COTE® heat lamp display to give them a visual representation of how our products work. The display places two cured paint samples of the same color directly underneath a heat source. One sample is coated with TEX•COTE® COOLWALL®, while the other sample is not. An infrared laser thermometer is then used to reveal that the sample treated with our products is typically 20 to 30 degrees cooler than the non-treated sample.

The heat lamp display directly demonstrates the benefit of using a heat reflective coating to reduce surface temperatures and contribute to energy savings that will cool the building. The attendees were particularly intrigued by the values of reduction in energy costs when our products are applied and the color fade resistance levels compared to other exterior coatings.
