I. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TYCOTE CLEAR or PIGMENTED
TYCOTE CLEAR acts a "Fill Coat" for the substrate and maintains clarity. (Must create a continuous, pinhole-free film and used for only natural finishes.)
TYCOTE PIGMENTED protects old paint from solvents in the TEXCOTE¨ GRAFFITI GARD¨ IIIs FINISH COAT and can match customer's specified color. (Must create a continuous pinhole free film.)
II. APPLICATION/EQUIPMENT:
TYCOTE CLEAR OR TYCOTE PIGMENTED SPRAY ON:
Commercial grade spray equipment such as a GRACO EM 590 (formerly EH 333 model or comparable equipment) with maximum tip size .017-.023TYCOTE CLEAR or TYCOTE PIGMENTED ROLL ON:
Medium nap roller (NOTE: Do not overwork the roller when applying TYCOTE CLEAR, as any excessive cavitation can cause bubbles. Try a test area first.) Consult manufacturer's representative for specific material applications. III. LIMITATIONS:
- TEXCOTE¨ TYCOTE shall be applied under ideal weather conditions.
- Graffiti marred surfaces may need to be treated with Graffiti Stain Blocker, prior to application of pigmented TYCOTE.
- Rain is not imminent, surfaces are not damp or frozen.
- Temperature is within 50¡ and rising to 90¡F range.
- Incompatible form oils, concrete curing agents, old chalking paints, laitance, etc., must be removed prior to application.
- Retaining walls, planter boxes, etc. should be waterproofed with a below grade asphalt type sealer on side of wall exposed to back-fill.
- TYCOTE CLEAR and PIGMENTED shelf life is 12 months at room temperature. Container should be stored upright, sealed airtight to prevent moisture intrusion.
CAUTION: DO NOT STORE OR USE NEAR EXCESSIVE HEAT OR OPEN FLAME.
IV. TECHNICAL DATA

V. SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be sound and cleaned with a manufacturer's approved detergent, or adequately sandblasted, wire brushed, scraped or suitable alternative. Such surface contaminants as dust, environmental dirt, mildew, form oils and loose substrate shall be thoroughly removed by sandblasting, waterblasting, sanding or wire-brushing as required by the manufacturer. Allow a 28 day cure on new concrete prior to the application of the TYCOTE CLEAR or TYCOTE PIGMENTED.
CAUTION: TYCOTE must cure a minimum of 24 hours prior to application of GRAFFITI GARD¨ IIIs or SACRIFICIAL GRAFFITI GUARD¨.
Estimated Coverage Rates: Consult the more detailed TEXCOTE¨ GRAFFITI GARD¨ IIIs SYSTEM technical data for specific substrate. Coverage rates may vary due to wall surface texture and porosity. Highly porous surfaces may require additional coats.
Clean-up:
TYCOTE CLEAR - for wet material use water,
For dry material use denatured alcohol.
TYCOTE PIGMENTED - for wet material use water.
For dry material use Methyl Ethyl Ketone (MEK), Xylene or Toluene.Quantity and Colors:
