TEXDRI is a clear penetrating water repellent sealer for concrete, cement plaster, brick and other TCA approved substrates. TEXDRI contains a 5% Silicone resin and does comply with federal specifications SS-W-110C. TEXDRI does not close the substrate pores, but allows it to breathe.
DRYING & CURING TIMES
TEXDRI
Cure a minimum of overnight under ideal weather conditions between coats. Prior to applying TEXCOTE¨ 100 or oil base paints, cure a minimum of 72 hours under ideal weather conditions.EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS
TEXDRI
Airless spray unit, low pressure (20 - 25 psi) for maximum penetration; or Hudson sprayer. Suitable for application by roller or brush.CLEAN UP/CONTAINER SIZES
- CAUTION: If sprayed on glass, material must be removed at once while still wet by wiping with toluene or xylene. Dry TEXDRI adheres tightly to glass surfaces.
- Available in 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums.
SURFACE PREPARATION/GENERAL
All surfaces shall be sound, clean, dry and cured a minimum of 28 days prior to application. Such surface contaminants as dust, dirt, mildew, form oils, loose substrate, etc., shall be removed. If surface was previously painted, all loose, flaking or oxidized paint must be removed from surface by sandblasting, waterblasting, electric sanding or wire brushing.
Large cracks, holes and voids must be filled with Cement Patching Compound and TCA TEXBOND Cement Adhesive. Texture of patch shall match texture of existing surface. Cracks over 1/16" and no greater than 1/8" shall be filled with TCA FLEX-PATCH Patching Compound. Interfacing wall joints shall be sealed with polyurethane type sealant.
APPLICATION OF TEXDRI
TEX-DRI IS NOT FOR USE BELOW GRADE.
For maximum penetration, an airless spray unit using low pressure 20-25 PSI is used; or Hudson Sprayer.Start application at top of the area and use vertical strokes first to break the surface tension and start the capillary action. Follow immediately with slow horizontal strokes and flood the surface. It is recommended that an 8" to 12" rundown be maintained in order to obtain maximum penetration. Depending upon porosity of surfaces being treated, more than one application may be required in order to satisfy the absorption of the surface.
ESTIMATED COVERAGE RATES
The following figures are estimated coverage rates and may vary according to porosity of surface and individual conditions. Only complete and full saturation with TEXDRI will satisfy the surface porosity of the substrate being treated.No. Of Square Feet Surface Coats Per Gallon Concrete Walls One 125-150 (Above Grade) Concrete Floors/Slabs One 100-125 Brick One 75-100 Cement Stucco One 75-100 (New or Old) Aggregate Panels One 100-125 Limestone One 100-125 Smooth Surface Wood One 100-125 Shingles/Shakes One 50-75PERFORMANCE/APPROVALS
Note: For all TCA Systems it is suggested that a wall sample be applied for the approval of the architect or contractor prior to application on the project.TEXDRI
Passes Federal Spec. SS-W-110CLIMITATIONS ON TEXDRI
- TEXDRI is not for use below grade.
- Surfaces shall be clean and dry prior to application and properly prepared.
- Do not apply if rain is imminent, or over damp or frozen substrates.
- Roof and parapet top caps must be installed and sealed prior to application. Top caps must be sealed with a continuous metal cap at least 4" leg on exterior side. All cap joints shall be sealed as well as all openings, such as meter boxes, windows, doors, etc., adequately against water penetration.
- Mortar joints and concrete shall be cured at least 28 days prior to application.
- Lids on TEXDRI containers must be kept tightly sealed. Do not allow moisture to enter containers.
- TEXDRI is a water repellent, but will not waterproof block.
- CAUTION: All TEXDRI Systems contain petroleum distillate, which, in liquid form, can cause serious illness or death if swallowed or if large quantities are absorbed into the body. Use only in well ventilated areas, if swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call physician at once. Do not store or use near excessive beat of open flame. Combustible in liquid form. Keep away from children in liquid form.
- Store containers upright, in a dry place. Air temp. at 45¡ to 100¡F range.
