TEX•COTE¨ XL-70¨ BRIDGE•COTE¨

THE CONCRETE PROTECTIVE COATING SYSTEM ONE COAT APPLICATION • HIGH BUILD • SINGLE COMPONENT

G Street Bridge - Richmond, IN 1991 • Restoration Award

For the protection and beautification of bridges, above-grade exterior surfaces such as concrete walls, columns, spandrels, median dividers, curbs, retaining walls, etc. Available in spray and roll on formulation. TEX•COTE¨ XL-70¨ BRIDGE•COTE¨ reduces the cost of rubbing, grouting and sacking of concrete. Helps minimize surface irregularities and will not internally support fungus or mildew. Specially formulated for bridge-systems, factory mixed and ready-to-use.

The application of this sand-like textured finish through the use of spray or rollers provides a highly protective coating against salt scaling, spalling and chloride ion intrusion of the concrete surfaces. It also eliminates countless man hours of conventional concrete rubbing.

That is why for over 18 years bridge engineers in the know have trusted their structures to TEX•COTE¨ XL-70¨ Bridge•Cote.

  3. 12 months shelf life based on following: containers shall be stored in upright and air tight in temperature above 45¡F (7.2¡C) not exceeding 100¡F (37.8¡C) in dry place, avoid freezing. Any skins formed on surface of material must be removed prior to moving containers or mixing.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface preparation prior to the application of an applied finish coating shall consist of a general surface finish in accordance with the specific requirements of the highway department. In order to fill air pockets, honey comb, etc., surface shall be supplemented, if.necessary, either by the use of grout composed of one part portland cement, two parts screened and washed sand, graded to pass the 16 mesh sieve, and sufficient water to produce a thick liquid mix, or other suitable masonry patch material. The grout shall be applied using burlap pads, float sponges or other acceptable methods. As soon as grout has taken its initial set, the surface shall be brushed to remove all loose grout, leaving surface smooth and free of any air holes. Surface to be coated shall be free from efflorescense, flaking coatings, oil, release agents and other deleterious substances prior to the application of the applied coating. Release agent must be removed and may require light sandblast or waterblast.

XL-70¨ BRIDGE•COTE¨ APPLICATION RATES

XL-70¨ BRIDGE•COTE¨ may be applied over damp, uncured or cured masonry surfaces which have been properly prepared and are clean and free of efflorescense, incompatible release agents, and curing compounds.
