TEX•COTE¨ RAINSTOPPER¨
SILOXANE SERIES

I. PRODUCT NAME

RAINSTOPPER¨ 1500 - 15% Siloxane Sealer
RAINSTOPPER¨ 600 - 6% Siloxane Sealer

II. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

RAINSTOPPER¨ SILOXANE is a one-component penetrating sealer. This product reacts chemically with the substrate to form a repellency to salt and water while still allowing the substrate to remain permeable to water vapor. RAINSTOPPER¨ Siloxane Sealers protect and preserve the substrate without altering the surface texture or appearance.

RAINSTOPPER¨ Siloxane Advantages:

BASIC USE:
RAINSTOPPER¨ SILOXANE CAUSES TREATED SUBSTRATES TO BECOME
WATER REPELLENT WHILE RETAINING ALL VAPOR PERMEABILITY.
SUBSTRATES WHICH CAN BE TREATED INCLUDE:

AFTER BEING CHEMICALLY TREATED, THESE
SUBSTANCES BECOME HIGHLY RESISTANT TO:

*RAINSTOPPER¨ 1500 meets and/or exceeds all the base requirements for NCHRP-244 Test Method and the Florida Department of Transportation requirements for a Type "0" High Performance Penetrating Sealer. All test results relative to untreated control samples. RAINSTOPPER¨ 600 and RAINSTOPPER¨ 1500 are available to comply with VOC requirements for California, as well as other states where mandated.

LIMITATIONS

  1. Apply to clean, sound, dry substrate.
  2. All curing agents, form oils, and any other contaminants should be removed prior to application of sealer.
  3. Do Not Apply when heavy rain is imminent.
  4. Do Not Apply when ambient or surface temperature is below 40¡F or above 100¡F.
  5. Sealers are water repellent and will not be used as a waterproofing material.
  6. All sealers contain petroleum distillate, which, in liquid form, can cause serious illness or death if swallowed or if large quantities are absorbed into the body. Use only in well ventilated areas, if swallowed, do not induce vomiting.

V. INSTALLATION

RAINSTOPPER¨ Siloxane Sealer is ready to use and shall be applied as supplied. It cannot be diluted or altered in any way. DO NOT allow any water to get into the solution. Application equipment should contain NO WATER.

RAINSTOPPER¨ Siloxane Sealer may be applied by brush, roller or spray. The most effective method for applying is to spray it on the surface using low pressure (15 p.s.i.) airless spray equipment.,Mist spraying can allow a substantial portion of the material to be lost to the atmosphere and slow down the rate of application. Deck areas should be sprayed using a spray-bar type unit, and other areas sprayed with hand spray units. Horizontal surfaces will be completely flooded; vertical surfaces will have spray patterns that will run 6 to 8 inches before soaking in when application rates are correct.

If applicator is unable to complete the entire application at one time, the place where the application was stopped shall be clearly marked. Partially used containers should be properly sealed and protected from contamination by water or other foreign substances.

Provide adequate ventilation during and after application, such that RAINSTOPPER¨ odors are not evident. Product is flammable. Use reasonable care and caution. Do not proceed when excessive winds could interfere with application. Concrete shall have cured to design strength prior to application of the RAINSTOPPER¨ Siloxane.

Surfaces which are not clean (i.e. surfaces where the pores may be clogged with oils, dirt, dust, curing compound and/or other coatings, etc.) must be cleaned sufficiently to allow enough pores to be opened so that the RAINSTOPPER¨ can penetrate.

RECOMMENDED CLEANING METHOD:
Sandblasting, waterblasting or any other method which opens pores as described. If wet methods are used, the surface should be allowed to dry completely prior to application of Rainstopper. All concrete or masonry surfaces shall be substantially dry prior to application.
